I earned a Bachelor of Music from Appalachian State University, a Master of Sacred Music from Emory University, and am a Certified Church Musician with the Presbyterian Association of Musicians.
I serve as Director of Music at Davidson College Presbyterian Church in Davidson, North Carolina. There I lead the traditional and contemporary worship services, in addition to leading children’s choirs, youth ensembles, handbell ensembles, and choirs.
One aspect of sacred music I am particularly passionate about is the use of contemporary worship and music styles as I believe they are crucial for a church to maintain vitality. Whether it is hymnody, praise and worship, or jazz music, all music's final aim should be the glorification of God and the refreshment of the soul.
At Davidson College Presbyterian Church, I am privileged to have the opportunity to lead excellent musicians as we seek to glorify God through music. Our 8:30 and 11:00 services follow a "traditional" approach, while our 9:45 service follows no strict rubric and is in a more folk style.
